Rainy days are not exactly common in Orlando, Florida with the rainy season starting in June. It is, however, worth mentioning that, in Orlando, as with many other places, when it rains, it can last all day. It’s not likely to ruin your entire vacation, though, because the sun is always right around the corner and there are plenty of exciting things to do indoors. So, let’s unpack the 5 Fun Things to do in Orlando on a Rainy Day. 

#1 Learn About Space Travel at Kennedy Space Center 

The Kennedy Space Center is part of NASA and the agency’s main launch site. But the Space Center is also home to facilities that research and develop solutions for problems that may be encountered while working or living on the surfaces of the moon or elsewhere in the solar system.  

Learn about and experience the Apollo Moon landings via artifacts and images. These include an Apollo Spacecraft as well as Alan Sheppard’s actual spacesuit which still has moon dust on it.  

At NASA’s Cosmic Quest, you’ll get to learn about current and future space projects. You can also build a Martian habitat, launch a rocket to Mars, or perform scientific experiments aboard the International Space Station, among other things. 

 Prices start at $65 a day for youngsters and $75 for adults. Hours are 10 AM to 4 PM daily. 

#2 Skydive at iFly 

Located on International Dr, iFly boasts an indoor skydiving experience that uses state-of-the-art wind tunnels and expert instructors to give you the thrill of skydiving. You’ll get to see what it’s like to jump out of a plane without actually doing it.  Prices start at $60.

#3 Learn about Science at Orlando Science Center 

Located on E Princeton St, the Orlando Science Center is a museum that offers hands-on and interactive chances to learn about science and technology. They also seek to promote a greater public understanding of science.  

Prices start at $24 for adults, $22 for students and seniors with ID, $18 for youth ages 2–11, and free for youngsters under 2. Hours:

#4 Laugh Until Your Cheeks Hurt at SAK Comedy Lab 

Located on Orange Ave in Orlando, SAK Comedy Lab is the highest-rated comedy spot in Orlando. It’s a 250-seat improv theater that was named Orlando’s “Best Comedy Club” by Orlando Weekly and boasts notable alumnus like Wayne Brady from the show Whose Line is it Anyway. Hours are as follows:

Located on International Dr, Orlando International Premium Outlets offers just about all you’ll need to stay entertained on a rainy day. This spot is Florida’s largest outlet mall and home to more than 180 name-brand outlet stores including H&M, Saks OFF Fifth, Victoria’s Secret, Kate Spade New York, Nike, Adidas, Polo Ralph Lauren to name a few.
