#1 Visit the Kennedy Space Center – Cocoa Beach 

Number one on any Space Coast list should be the Kennedy Space Center. Located on a barrier island just north of Cocoa Beach, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will open your eyes to America’s history of space exploration.  

Located on a barrier island just north of Cocoa Beach is the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, the site of a glorious path of exploration, as well as some touching human tragedies and memorials. Here, the first Americans to orbit the Earth and land on the moon took off. 

The Center tells the story of humanity’s journey into space – step by step. Other notables include displays of historic aircraft and rockets, artifacts, and memorabilia,  as well as a chance to meet a veteran astronaut.  

#2 Take in Some History at Historic Cocoa Village 

First settled in the mid-1800s, Historic Coca Village has since evolved into one of the area’s premier shopping and entertainment districts. It’s also one of the Space Coast’s most popular attractions.

Stroll the tree-lined streets, shop, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of this riverside community. You can also sup at gourmet restaurants or take in a show at the historic Cocoa Village Playhouse. Hours are 9 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday; CLOSED on the weekend. 

#3 Watch a Broadway Musical at the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse 

Located on Brevard Ave in Cocoa, Florida, Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse, originally dubbed the Aladdin Theater, opened its doors in 1924 and has remained one of Cocoa’s most important historic buildings. 

The location is also one of the top areas on the East Coast for catching Broadway musicals. The hours are from 10 AM to 4 PM Tuesday – Friday.

#4 Check Out the Critters at Brevard Zoo 

Located on N Wickham Rd, in Melbourne, Florida – 20 minutes from the beach – the Brevard Zoo is a great place to experience something different. The Paws On Play section introduces you to a variety of critters from various regions of the world.  

In Wild Florida, you can get up close and personal with the numerous animals native to Florida. And in the Expedition Africa section, you’ll find yourself in the wilds of the African continent. The zoo is open from 9:30 AM–5 PM daily. 

#5 Take in a Few Holes at a Cocoa Beach Course 

Cocoa Beach boasts a number of gorgeous golf courses to choose from and who doesn’t love a game of golf? At Baytree National Golf Links, for example, you can navigate through mounds and uneven lies, as well as 74 white-sand bunkers, and plenty of water hazards.
