Walt Disney World Resorts has gone and done it again with their Magic Bands collection. Magic Bands and Magic Bands+ (MB) are waterproof wristbands loosely resembling watches, that unlock magic.

Why Magic Bands for Your Disney World Vacay? 

You may be curious as to why you or your kids would need a Magic Band for your Disney vacation. Of course, it isn’t a requirement for any attraction at the popular theme park.  

However, the Magic Band does simplify things and can add to the magic already present at Disney. They’re incredibly easy to use and can allow guests to do so many things they might otherwise not be able to do.

  • Magic Band and Magic Band+ both store your tickets. Just tap the band entry at any one of the Walt Disney World theme parks. 
  • Both bands allow you to easily redeem Lightning Lane reservations you’ve made via Genie+ (Read about those here). No more fumbling with paper tickets or using your phone.  
  • Both MB can unlock your Disney Resort hotel room. No more wondering where you left your key. Just tap and it unlocks.  
  • Both bands make it easy to pay for food and merch at Disney. Just enter a 4-digit code and tap to pay.

*Only Magic Band+ has enchanting interactions with select entertainment and locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Also, you need to charge it nightly in order to use the interactive features.

Walt Disney world is always releasing new designs. While you count down to your vacay, you’ll enjoy getting together with your family and friends and choosing and customizing your MB.

How to Use Your Magic Band and Magic Band+ at Disney World 

Magic Bands are as easy to use as “tap and go” and they let you explore Disney’s parks with ease. And, of course, parents will love not having to lug around bags, purses, wallets, and paper tickets.

If you’re not staying at the resort, you can still buy a Magic Band at shopDisney online or upon your arrival at the park. These bands will have many of the same options as linking your park ticket and account to the band for use with admission, Genie+ reservations and more.  

What do Magic Bands Cost? 

All types of Magic Bands can cost from $20 to $50 and more. Notably, the Magic Band+ costs more than the standard Magic Band. Remember to order yours as early as possible in order to get your early booking discount.  

Prices range from $20-$50 or more, per Band. However, it’s important to note that Magic Band+ is more expensive than a regular Magic Band. Be sure to order yours early to take advantage of your early booking discount.
