#1 Tallahassee Automobile Museum 

Located on Mahan Dr in Tallahassee, Florida, Tallahassee Automobile Museum is a car lovers paradise. Also known as the Tallahassee Automobile and Collectibles Museum, TAM is owned by Tallahassee businessman DeVoe L. Moore. 

 It primarily showcases items of Americana from his personal collection. The museum is open from 8 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday; Saturday from 10 AM – 5 PM and Sunday 11 AM – 5 PM. 

#2 Railroad Square Art Park 

Located on McDonnel Dr between Florida State University and Florida A&M, Railroad Square State Park is an art and entertainment center for downtown Tallahassee. In the area you can find art galleries and antique stores peppered among other eclectic businesses like a pinball arcade, kayak shop, and a rock-climbing gym.  

There are also numerous restaurants to choose from. They’re open Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. 

#3 Mission San Luis de Apalachee  

When part of Florida belonged to Spain between 1656 and 1704, Mission San Luis de Apalachee was the western capital.  But today you can experience the 17th century via costumed interpreters, reconstructed buildings, exhibits, and archaeological demonstrations.

Mission San Luis de Apalachee, located on W Tennessee St, features special events, workshops, and camps throughout the year so you should stay busy and intrigued for your entire visit.  They’re open Tuesday – Sunday from 10 AM – 4 PM and admission is $5 for adults; $3 for seniors; $2 for children; and active-duty military personnel get in for free.

#4 Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park 

Located on Wakulla Pk Dr in Wakulla Springs, 15 miles outside of Tallahassee, the Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park is a 6,000-acre wildlife sanctuary. Situated south of the Florida Capital, the park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places It was also designated a National Natural Landmark. 

When you travel there, you can feel the history. But the freshwater is the kicker because you can see over 100 ft below the surface of the spring-fed lake.  

There are also plenty of wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, and American alligators to see on land. The park is open from 8 AM – 7:30 PM daily. Admission is $6 per vehicle with two to eight occupants. It’s $4 for a single-occupant vehicle, $2 per extra vehicle occupant, and $2 per pedestrian or bicyclist. 

#5 Tallahassee Museum 

The Tallahassee Museum, located on Museum Rd boasts a 52-acre lakeside site with wildlife, a nature trail, period exhibits, events, and zipline tours. The museum was moved to its current location in the 1960s. 

Since then the museum has evolved to include 52 acres of nature trails, living exhibits of wildlife, and historic buildings. The museum is open from 9 AM – 5 PM Monday- Saturday and 11 AM – 5 PM on Sunday.
