#1 Jacksonville Zoo 

Located on Zoo Pkwy in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Zoo boasts about 122 acres with over 2,000 animals and 1,000 plant species in its collection. It’s one of only seven zoos in the country with an animal wellness team and is focused on providing the best care for its furry, and not-so-furry, residents.

#2 Adventure Landing 

Located on Beach Blvd. Adventure Landing is an amusement park cornucopia featuring an aquatic complex with additional land attractions including mini-golf, laser tag, and go-karts. As Northeast Florida’s largest water park, Adventure Landing features extreme water slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. 

For youngsters, there is a Splash Cove and a Pirate’s Play Village water playground for older kids. There is also laser tag, Gator Alley, miniature golf, an arcade, go-karts, and more. Hours are from Noon to 9 PM Monday – Friday, 11 AM – 11 PM Saturday, and 11 AM to 9 PM on Sunday. Prices start at $13.99.

#3 Top Golf Jacksonville 

Located on Brightman Blvd in Jacksonville, Florida, Top Gulf Jacksonville can challenge the whole family with 14 holes of miniature golf. A bonus? If you visit during the day with your youngsters, the cost is less of a burden.  

They’re open from 10 Am to Noon Monday – Thursday and 10 AM to 1 AM Friday and Saturday. Also, if you look around and plan ahead there are many discounts offered.

#4 iFLY Indoor Skydiving 

Located on Brightman Blvd in Jacksonville, iFLY Indoor Skydiving offers safe, indoor fun for all ages. They’re open from noon to 8 PM Monday – Friday and 9 AM to 9 PM Saturday and Sunday. 

The park boasts state-of-the-art wind tunnels designed to provide a safe flight experience and memories that will last a lifetime. Prices range from $70 for two flights to $300 for 10.  

#5 Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary 

Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit home to several rescued critters including lions, leopards, tigers, cougars, bobcats, foxes, servals, and more. The overarching goal for the sanctuary is to provide permanent homes for endangered big cats as well as to educate the public about the plight of these animals in both captivity and in the wild.  

The sanctuary offers public tours every afternoon, as well as night feedings on Fridays and Saturdays. Hours are 1 – 3 PM Sunday – Thursday and 1–3 PM, 6–7:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. Be sure and stay up to speed on all the hot spots and sweet destinations in Florida.
