#1 The Environmental Learning Center 

Located on Live Oak Dr in Vero Beach, The Environmental Learning Center is a 64-acre non-profit nature center. Located in the middle of the Indian River Lagoon the center features mangrove trails, pontoon tours, guided kayak adventures, and plenty of native flora and fauna. 

They’re open from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday – Friday and 8 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Prices range from $10 for adults 12 and up; $5 for children 2-11; $5 for military; free for Children under age 2. 

#2 The Vero Beach Museum of Art 

Located on Riverside Park Dr in Vero Beach, The Vero Beach Museum of Art features five unique galleries spread over 50,000 feet of floor space. It’s one of the central Atlantic coast’s foremost art museums. The Vero Beach Museum is the perfect place to stop on your Florida vacation, especially if you’re an art lover.  

With a main focus on prominent state and local artists, the museum features paintings, art glass, and sculpture. There is also a section that’s dedicated to educational and community outreach programs. The cost is $8.00 for adults and $5 for students. Ages 0-17 get in for free.

#3 McKee Botanical Garden 

A non-profit, subtropical botanical garden on US 1 in Vero Beach, Florida, McKee Botanical Garden sits on merely 18 acres of land. But don’t let the small size fool you. This garden packs a horticultural punch. 

The garden consists of several uniquely themed areas.  The gardens boast waterfalls, ponds, and quiet seating areas, as well as community enrichment programs. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children. The Garden is open from 10 AM to 5 PM Tuesday – Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 PM.

#4 Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge 

Located on Wildlife Way in Vero Beach, Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge is a US National Wildlife Refuge, and part of the Everglades Headwaters NWR complex. It’s one of the oldest refuges of its kind in the United States and is home to a variety of birds and pelicans.  

Also notable, Kayaking, boating, and swimming opportunities abound in the lagoon surrounding Pelican Island. They’re open daily from 7:30 AM to sunset.  

#5 Riverside Theatre 

Located on Riverside Park Dr this professional, non-profit theatre features Broadway and off-Broadway shows musicals, and plays. In addition, the Riverside Theatre boasts standup comedy, live music, and up to eight yearly productions specifically for children. 

Unlike others of its kind, this theatre also features an on-site restaurant and bar. Single tickets will run you $10 but must be handled ahead of showtime.
