Orlando, Florida is one of the more popular destinations in Florida with new parks and attractions popping up often. In fact, 2022 was a big year for Orlando.

SeaWorld Orlando released the Ice Breaker coaster and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay opened Iron Gwazi. Disney also debuted a new coaster at EPCOT: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. 2023 is also looking to be a big year for Orlando. Let’s unpack 5 New Theme Park Attractions in Orlando, Florida.

#1 Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana 

It’s opening at EPCOT in Bay Lake Florida in the fall of 2023. Journey of Water, inspired by Moana is a walk-through EPCOT attraction that was inspired by the animated film “Moana.” Scheduled to open in 2021 as part of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration, the opening met delays until 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  

 Now it will open as part of the “Disney 100 Years of Wonder” celebration. The attraction will be an outdoor exploration trail with interactive water features such as fountains and waterfalls and it will teach visitors about the earth’s water cycle.    

 #2 Pipeline – The Surf Coaster 

Opening at the end of May 2023, Pipeline – The first-of-its-kind Surf Coaster at SeaWorld Orlando in Orlando, Florida will simulate surf action. Specially designed seats will let you experience the rush of the surf as you drop from 110 feet up, feeling every bank and curve as if you were riding actual waves. 

The innovative seat design gives the rider unparalleled freedom of movement while still maintaining safety. This coaster is the seventh addition to SeaWorld Orlando’s long list of exciting rides.

#3 TRON – Lightcycle Run 

The first imagining of the TRON – Lightcycle Run released in 2016 at Walt Disney World. And now, Spring 2023 will see TRON – Lightcycle Run appearing at Magic Kingdom. This ride will have you speeding across the grid at breakneck speed. 

You’ll surge past others as you attempt to cross through 8 Energy Gates and secure your team’s victory. TRON is notably the fastest roller coaster at any Disney Theme Park in the world.  

#4 EPCOT — Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind 

The Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind opened in May of Last year and features Disney’s first-ever reverse launch. It’s also one of the largest fully enclosed roller coasters in the world.  

It rotates 360 degrees so you can get a full picture of the action going on around you. Located at EPCOT in Walt Disney World, this coaster boasts a max speed of 60 mph.  

#5 Serengeti Flyer 

Located at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the Serengeti Flyer is set to open in Spring 2023. The pendulum-style swing ride is set to be the tallest and fastest of its kind.  

It will feature dueling arms that swing riders back and forth and will reach breakneck speeds of up to 68 mph and a height of 135 feet. Be sure and stay up to speed on all the hot spots and sweet destinations in Florida.
